Please contact me to inquire about purchasing any of the below drums. Generally I ship worldwide, though many countries have dimensional restrictions that make large bass drums almost impossible to ship. Reasonable offers will be considered.

Red & Gold Fade – $2000

This kit is a four-piece with snare, 8×12/15×16/12×22/5×14.

8×12 rack tom – Yamaha Stage Custom Advantage shell, recent vintage. WFL or Ludwig single-point eyelet lugs, Ludwig claws, Walberg & Auge tension rods, a Conn-era Ludwig or Leedy floating hoop clamp mount adapted from a marching leg brace. Hoops are steam bent solid maple.

15×16 floor tom (16″ head size) – Yamaha Stage Custom Advantage shell, recent vintage. WFL or Ludwig single-point eyelet lugs, Ludwig claws, Walberg & Auge square head tension rods, Leedy timpani-style thumb rods, WFL leg brackets, stainless bent legs. Hoops are steam bent solid maple.

12×22 bass drum – Yamaha Stage Custom Advantage shell, recent vintage. Ludwig tube lugs and claws, Walberg & Auge tension rods, Leedy disappearing spur brackets. Hoops are 3-ply and solid maple vintage respectively, of unknown origin. Inlay strips are from a vintage Japanese drum with an attractive UV fade.

5×14 snare – 80s Tama SuperStar birch shell, this piece was a cutoff from a concert tom. (Modded) pre-1920 Ludwig strainer, Slingerland 30s tube lugs, Kent rims, Ludwig rim clips and tension rods. Butt plate of unknown origin, probably British.

All drums have a roundover outer bearing edge with a 45-degree inner cut, smoothed and oiled. They are plenty loud enough for rock and roll but have a warm tone and tune up easily. The snare cracks, and the strainer stays in place effectively. Almost every piece of hardware is vintage, including the mounting screws and washers. Hand-stamped badges complete the vibe.

Green & Gold Fade – $1500

8×12/14×15/14×22/6.5×14

This one is a four-piece with snare, 8×12/14×15/14×22/6.5×14. Floor tom is a Keller 6-ply cylinder shell, rack tom shell is a 50s 2-ply Kent, bass drum is a 50s 3-ply Gretsch. Snare is a late 50s Rogers marcher, cut down with the original edge and snare bed on one side and a solid maple rering installed on top.

On the toms and bass drum, the vintage nickel hardware is a variety of Barry tube lugs with Kent and Duplex parts, and 10-24 thumb rods and claws which are probably made by Walberg & Auge or Leedy. Tom legs are stainless steel, and the kit comes with three Duplex leg brackets and a pair of Leedy hoop clamp spurs as shown.

The snare has 30s Ludwig & Ludwig tube lugs and tension rods, Gretsch cast stick chopper rims, a 30s L&S strainer (which does work but requires pulling on the main body rather than the lever arm to throw off the wires), Rogers butt plate and a custom wire brush internal strainer/muffler assembly. This drum is capable of a huge variety of tones and characters, as it basically has two throwoffs that work in unique ways.

Green and gold two-tone fade finish with paint and lacquer. Bearing edges on toms are outer roundovers in a late 50s/60s Gretsch style. The bass drum has its original 30-degree edges, which are not flawless but were good enough to keep. Snare has 45-degree edges, the resonant side edge is original.

Black & Gold Fade Snare – $350

5×15

This drum is made from an unidentified deep marching shell from the 1900s or 1910s. The shell was cut to 5-inch depth and the original solid maple rering was reset. Only tiny holes were plugged from the original drum, most were cut out when the depth was altered. The bearing edges are original, very smooth roundovers. Finish is black and gold paint with lacquer in a two-tone fade.

Hardware is mostly vintage and mostly chrome, and includes a modified 60s Premier strainer, 50s Gretsch parade butt plate, modified Vespe cocktail drum tube lugs, and 60s Pearl tension rods. The rims are modern 2.3mm triple flange parts with holes drilled for the snare wire cords.

This drum has a low fundamental, with lots of body and lots of sustain.
